Today our lesson is going to be about a really famous artist: JOAN MIRÓ. First of all, I want you to watch this video to see some of his masterpieces.
Let´s learn some facts about Joan Miró:
1. He was born in Barcelona in 1893 and he died in 1983 at the age of 90.
2. He was a painter, sculptor and ceramicist.
3. He was known for his use of simple shapes, bright colours, and the symbolic meaning of his artworks. His art is often described as being clild-like.
4. His work is classified as Surrealism. He wanted to show his dreams and unconscious thoughts in art, creating unexpected and irrational images.
Today I want you to do a painting as if you were Miró. This is an example, but you can create your own masterpiece.
